The Family Therapy Institute of Santa Barbara

The Turner Foundation is happy to announce a partnership with The Family Therapy Institute of Santa Barbara to provide free & low-cost counseling to Village Residents.

The Family Therapy Institute is a non-profit organization founded in 1980 to "serve individuals, couples, children, and families in our community; to train professionals in the use of effective therapies, and to educate the public about issues relevant to the family's improved health and well-being."

Marisa Huston, MFT Intern Marisa received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from UC Berkeley and her Masters in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Prior to joining FTI, she worked at the Community Counseling and Education Center for three years. She has also worked with chemical dependency at the Cottage Residential Center, a 28-day rehabilitation program. Marisa serves on the Board of the Santa Barbara chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, as the Membership Chair. Marisa and her husband moved to Santa Barbara eight years ago, soon after getting married. She enjoys traveling the world, running, hiking, and NY Times crossword puzzles
