Santa Barbara Prayer Gathering Commission
"We gather together through a common belief in the principles espoused by Jesus of Nazareth, who encouraged us to serve our neighbors and be agents
of love, unity, reconciliation, and hope. Despite differences in thought or background that may exist, we believe that in praying for the needs of our city
and county (Santa Barbara) and its leaders, who have a significant impact
in addressing those needs, we can bring healing and restoration to those who
are downtrodden and destitute. It is our hope that the spirit of the
relationships forged during this gathering will provide mutual encouragement
to one another in both our private and public lives and become a force of good involving people at all levels of our community."
The Turner Foundation hosts an ecumenical prayer gathering on the first Monday of each month. The intent is to pray for the city and county of Santa Barbara: our elected leaders and other public servants, leaders in education, businesses, health care professionals, non-profit organizations, and families.
