The Turner Foundation is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven TAY Program Administrative Assistant to join our team supporting Transitional-Age Youth (TAY)—young adults ages 18 to 24 navigating housing instability. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on organization, systems thinking, and wants to make a tangible impact in the lives of youth experiencing homelessness.

You’ll work closely with our Director of Programs, Grant Manager, and Chief Operations Officer to uphold the integrity and efficiency of the services we provide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Management: Maintain accurate, confidential records using HMIS, Salesforce, and SAGE

  • Grant & Contract Oversight: Support grant tracking, drawdowns, and reporting

  • Invoicing & Documentation: Process invoices, maintain financial records, support budgeting

  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure program meets HUD and local requirements

  • Team Coordination: Serve as a key admin support to case managers, housing navigators, and resident assistants

  • Mission Support: Help advance the Turner Foundation’s work through development, fundraising, and special events

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (social work, psychology, counseling, etc.)

  • 1+ year experience working with transitional-aged youth or similar populations

  • Strong time management, organization, and communication skills

  • Familiarity with housing programs, rental assistance, and compliance standards

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

  • Cultural competence and a heart for serving vulnerable populations

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Work Environment

  • In-person role based in Santa Barbara, CA

  • Light physical activity (walking, lifting, driving) required

  • Background check, TB test, and physical required prior to start

At the Turner Foundation, we believe in lifting others up—creating communities where people find not only housing, but hope. We hope you join us in supporting young adults on their journey to independence and thriving.
